ConstructStream for Gmail. Log any email with one button.
Open an email, tap “Log to ConstructStream”, and it files itself, with its attachments, to the bid, project or client it belongs to. Your team sees it there, and your follow-ups know who already answered.
How it works
1
Install it in Gmail
Add ConstructStream from the Google Workspace Marketplace. It opens in Gmail's side panel next to the email you are reading.
2
Connect once
Tap Connect. ConstructStream opens in your browser, you sign in there and allow the add-on. The add-on never sees your password.
3
Log the emails that matter
Open an email and tap “Log to ConstructStream”. It files itself, with its attachments, to the bid, project or client it belongs to: by the thread it answers, a bid number in the subject, or who sent it.
After you log it
It asks when it can't tell
If an email could belong to more than one record, the add-on asks which one. If nothing fits, the email waits in your My Work under Needs filing, so nothing is lost.
Replies count as answers
A client's reply you log counts as their answer, so your follow-ups stop chasing someone who already replied.
Your own emails count too
An email you sent by hand to a bid's contact counts as a follow-up, so nobody on your team sends a duplicate.
Your team sees it
The email and its attachments show on the bid, project or client, for everyone in your company who can see that record.
Filed somewhere else? Change it
Tap “Change” on the add-on's answer to move the email to another record.
Logged once
Log the same email again, or a colleague logs it, and the add-on says it is already in ConstructStream. Nothing is added twice.
What the add-on can see, and why
ConstructStream for Gmail asks Google for five permissions when you install it. It uses each one only for what is written here. Nothing leaves Gmail until you tap “Log to ConstructStream” on an email.
Run as a Gmail add-on
Shows ConstructStream's card in Gmail's side panel.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.addons.executeView the email you have open
Shows the open email's sender and subject on the card. When you tap “Log to ConstructStream”, sends that one email (its headers, text, formatting and, if you leave them switched on, its attachments) to your ConstructStream account. It cannot see any other email, and it cannot send, change or delete email.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.addons.current.message.readonlyConnect to ConstructStream
Sends the email you log to ConstructStream's servers, and signs you in to ConstructStream when you connect.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_requestSee your Google account's email address
Tells an email you sent from an email you received.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.emailSee your language and time zone
Shows dates and times on the card in your time zone.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.locale
What it never does
Read any email you have not opened
Send anything before you tap “Log to ConstructStream”
Send, change or delete email in your Gmail

What happens to a logged email
A logged email is stored in your company's ConstructStream account and filed to its bid, project or client, where colleagues who can see that record can read it. ConstructStream's automated features read it to tell whether someone on your team needs to act, and when drafting follow-up emails. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. Section 5 of our Privacy Policy covers the add-on in full, including the service providers that process a logged email.
ConstructStream's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnect any time
In Gmail, open the add-on's home card and tap “Disconnect”. To end the connection on ConstructStream's side as well, remove it in ConstructStream under Profile → Connections → Connected apps. Emails you already logged stay in ConstructStream.
